Avatar is a landmark comeback of director Cameron after “Titanic”, his 2007 huge hit. Moviegoers who have seen Avatar experienced how Cameron executes his vision with the stunning use of the technology combining it with sensitive story telling.
Avatar transports moviegoers into another world, the moon Pandora. The story is set in 2154 where the earth is on the verge of extinction. So the Earthlings decide to invade Pandora on a mission. Pandora is inhabited by a tribe of blue giants called Na’vi. The Navi’s resisted the invasion so this sets off the battle that lead to the destruction of both sides.
The scientists have developed avatars that are controlled by human minds because human cannot breathe the atmosphere of Pandora. Jake Sally (Sam Worthington) is paraplegic whose body is set free in his avatar. In his avatar body, Jake goes with his mission, met Neytiri (Zoe Aldana), who saves his life. As the story tells, Jake switches side and goes into battle with the earthlings.
Avatar is visually breathtaking. The flora, fauna and everything in the moon Pandora is generated by computer technology. Cameron was able to combine technology marvel with as engrossing core story of Jake and Neytiri that make Avatar a bigger movie to date.
