Costume Creator Kermit Love Dies At 91

Kermit Love, costume creator of "Sesame Street" character Big Bird, has died from congested heart failure Saturday. He was 91.
Love was a prolific costume designer for some prominent choreographers like Twyla Tharp, Robert Joffrey and George Balanchine. He built the three-meter tall yellow-feathered costume for "Sesame Street," which was first televised in the US in 1969. He also designed costumes for the theater, film and advertising.
